Brad Griggs

General Partner & CIO

Brad Griggs serves as General Partner & Chief Investment Officer for Tigerblocks and its affiliates. Brad is a veteran real estate executive with over 40 years of experience in multifamily, homebuilding, and hospitality development, with leadership roles in both private and public companies. Notably, he served as Chief Investment Officer at BRE Properties, Inc., a publicly traded apartment REIT, where he oversaw the investment of a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of publicly owned apartment properties. His responsibilities included driving investment strategy, underwriting, capital deployment, and institutional reporting in accordance with SEC regulations and public company governance standards.

Throughout his career, Brad has overseen the development of more than 9,000 apartment units, 45 extended-stay hotels, and 2,000 for-sale homes, representing over $4.0 billion in investment. He has also acquired or sold over 10,000 apartment units, totaling more than $2 billion in transactions.

In 2013, Brad co-founded Blake|Griggs Properties, a private real estate development firm focused on mixed-use and multifamily projects across California. In 2020, he co-founded Opportunity Housing Group, an investment platform that works with public agencies to acquire and preserve multifamily properties as long-term affordable housing for essential and workforce households through public bond financing. Today, he advises the firm’s asset management team, which oversees a $1 billion portfolio of apartments.

Brad also serves as an Investment Advisor to Gran Ciudad, a multifamily investment firm based in Mexico City. He holds a degree in Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, is a California Licensed Architect (inactive), and has been actively involved in the Urban Land Institute and the California Building Industry Association, where he served as President of the Homebuilder’s Council in San Diego.
